Austria student visa: the official document checklist
In short: the Residence permit 'Student' (Aufenthaltsbewilligung Student) + visa D to enter for Austria asks for 11 documents from every applicant, and 1 more when they apply to you. This list follows the official checklist the Austria mission publishes for applicants in Pakistan, read on 16 October 2026. (official source, checked 16 October 2026)
Where applicants in Pakistan submit: Ask for an appointment by email to the Austrian Embassy Islamabad using its request form, then apply in person (first application must be made abroad and you wait for the decision there). Book document legalisation first through VFS Global. Apply at least three months before travel. After approval you have three months to get a visa D.
