Netherlands student visa: the official document checklist

In short: the MVV (provisional residence permit) + residence permit for study, applied for by the university as recognised sponsor (TEV procedure) for Netherlands asks for 7 documents from every applicant, and 7 more when they apply to you. This list follows the official checklist the Netherlands mission publishes for applicants in Pakistan, read on 16 October 2026. (official source, checked 16 October 2026)

Where applicants in Pakistan submit: You do not apply yourself: the Dutch university (a recognised sponsor) applies to the IND for the MVV and residence permit. After approval you make an appointment by e-mail with the Netherlands Embassy in Islamabad to collect the MVV sticker (within 3 months), then travel within 90 days. VFS Global in Pakistan is used for other visa services.

Passport: Valid passport (IND). No validity/blank-page rule read today.
